iPod cover that looks like raw meat!
This is soo cool! An iPod cover that looks like raw meat. It even comes packaged in what looks like a package of meat. See this link for more pics http://item.rakuten.co.jp/sastore/krb-3n-r/. Sorry but it's all in Japanese so it can't be read unless you can read that language, pretty pics though.
VIDEO: Making of the Computer Graphics for Star Wars (Episode IV)
Wow, it's hard to believe that computer technology has come so far in such a short amount of time. This video illustrates the process which was required to create the short computer animation during the briefing before battle. It was even required to physically photograph each frame from the screen of the computer to animate it. See video below.

The most important human endeavor is the striving for morality in our actions. Our inner balance and even our very existence depend on it. Only morality in our actions can give beauty and dignity to life.

Howcast, Another Cool Site for Instructionals
I was browsing around on Boing Boing again, yeah I know, and ran across this video of how to make a dancing frog with a baby's head. What a wierd thing I thought this would be and by chance decided to click on the link. Well it brought me to the Howcast site where they have many instructional videos.
Howcast is just not instructional videos though, the have added something new. While you are watching the video there are bookmarks within the video pointing to specific steps of the instruction. Very helpful, especially when you're trying to follow along and need to rewind. I no longer have to worry about searching for the last step. Yay!
They are still in beta so don't be surprised if you run into a few glitches. I didn't but I just wanted to warn you.
Whatch out Instructables here comes Howcast.
Giant Atari Joystick, Good For Stress!! VIDEO
So I ran across this yesterday on Boing Boing. Jason Torchinski has built a giant 15 times larger than life Atari Joystick. It is not just a sculpture either, this thing actually works as a giant 8 bit joystick. See video below brought to us by Boing Boing.
Paleo-Future: Really Cool Site (Shh that's where I got previous post)
So yesterday I was browsing around BoingBoing, another blog I like, and found a link to the book 2063 A.D. and came across Paleo Future. This site is a view of what was envisioned by the past experts as to what our future would be like. Dates all the way back to the 1800's. Very cool reading here.
2063 A.D. Book (1963), how General Dynamics envisioned our future in 100 years from 1963.
I thought this was something interesting. Below is a link to a scanned copy of "2063 A.D.," from General Dynamics Astronautics.
The book asked politicians, military commanders and scientists to speculate as to where humanity would be, a hundred years hence, in the great push towards space.
A copy of the limited print book (only 200 are believed to have been produced) was included in the time capsule at General Dynamics Astronautics headquarters in San Diego. The building was torn down in the late 1990s and the time capsule is believed to have perished. The book gives some great insight into the general sense of optimism that so typifies 1960s futurism. Space colonies? Sure! Martian life? Why not! Teleportation? Easier than commercial space flight!

Today's Einstein Quote
Measured objectively, what a man can wrest from Truth by passionate striving is utterly infinitesimal. But the striving frees us from the bonds of the self and makes us comrades of those who are the best and the greatest.

Today's Einstein Quote
Generations to come, it may be, will scarcely believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth. (In reference to the death of Mahatma Gandhi.)

Today's Einstein Quote
One reason why mathematics enjoys special esteem, above all other sciences, is that its laws are absolutely certain and indisputable, while those of other sciences are to some extent debatable and in constant danger of being overthrown by newly discovered facts.

Man Who Cracked Human Genome Says He Found God.
What a read this was! Francis Collins, the scientist who cracked the human genome says that he now believes in God more than before. He states that there is proof in the way we were designed. Even more amazing, he started out as an Athiest.
He will be publishing a book, The Language of God, in September.

Yoda Quote of the Day
Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you;

Calling Head of HR "Skank Ho" Will NOT Get You Hired.
Wow, it just baffles me the nerve of some people. Why would you call you prospective employer names before you were even considered for the position. See link for an actual HR letter to a prospective employee whom was turned down because they insulted the head of HR. Now that's what I call stupid.

The cult of individual personalities is always, in my view, unjustified. To be sure, nature distributes her gifts variously among her children. But there are plenty of the well-endowed ones too, thank God, and I am firmly convinced that most of them live quiet, unregarded lives.

MIT's Nexi bot, right out of a science ficton flick.
Wow, now this is something amazing, MIT's Nexi bot. This robot looks like something directly from the movie AI, or better yet Bicentennial Man with Robin Williams. Reminds me of Robin when he was first removed from his crate by his family. Although it seems friendly enough, it also seems kinda creepy if you ask me.

Proof We've Found God's Math
So I stumbled upon this new Broccoli/Cauliflower post today about something called Romanesco. If you know what a fractal looks like then you will see the familiarity in this vegetable. Cap'n Surly has taken some great pictures of it here.
Today's Einstein Quote
A happy man is too satisfied with the present to dwell too much on the future.
I'm back!!
Ok, so I've put this thing off for long enough and I've decided to come back. I figured that since nobody was reading this anyways I wouldn't bother. Problem with my thinking that way is that I do not any longer have a good place to post things I've found for the day, so.. here I am again. Today I will start posting again with things that interest me.
